What are G2 driving lessons?
In Ontario’s graduated licensing system, your G1 is the learner’s stage — you can only drive with a fully licensed supervisor, with restrictions on highways and night driving. G2 driving lessons are the training that gets you ready to pass the G1 exit road test and move up to a G2 licence — the one that lets you drive on your own.

FAQ
How many G2 driving lessons do I need?
MTO requires a minimum of 10 hours of in-car training as part of an approved BDE course — that’s built into both packages. Some students want a few extra hours before they feel test-ready; your instructor will give you an honest read.
How soon can I take my G2 road test after getting my G1?
Without any course, you have to wait 12 months. Completing our MTO-approved BDE course brings that down to 8 months.
What's the actual difference between Silver and Gold?
Same BDE course and same 10 hours in-car. Gold adds the use of our instructor’s car for your road test at the Oshawa DriveTest Centre — useful if you don’t have a vehicle available on test day.
Do I have to take the BDE course to book lessons?
No. If you already have your BDE certificate or don’t need one, our Private Driving Lessons are $50/hour with no commitment.
Can I use my own car for lessons and the road test?
Lessons are always in our training vehicle. For the road test itself, you’re welcome to use your own car, a family member’s, or a friend’s. If not, Gold covers it.
Which areas do you offer G2 driving lessons in?
Ajax, Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering, and Bowmanville. Instructors come to you, scheduled around your local roads and the DriveTest Centre you’ll be testing at.
